Tennis, anyone?

Greetings from Beijing!

We are here in Beijing, city of 16 million people.  I think they were all on the subway with us yesterday!

Our flight on Wednesday was long, of course.  It was a little strange eating dinner on the plane (an hour or so after we left JFK), and then eating dinner again, ten or so hours later, when it was dinnertime in China!  We slept at little bit on the plane, and were thankful that our request for bulkhead seating was granted.

Yesterday was busy – a subway ride to The Forbidden City and then a walk through a tunnel under Chang An Avenue to Tiananmen Square.  DD enjoyed being wrapped in a blanket while she was wheeled around in her stroller.  Busy day tomorrow, when our guide (and a tour bus) takes us to the Great Wall.

Today was even busier, if that’s possible!  We started with a trip to Ming Tombs, followed by a visit to a Jade Museum, then lunch, then a ride to the Great Wall, a drive past two Beijing Olympics 2008 structures - The Cube and The Bird Nest, and finally, a visit to a Tea House.  We were tired but happy when we finally arrived at our hotel again.

We leave Beijing tomorrow for Wuhan (and baby!).
