Passport Nightmare (to be continued)

Yesterday, we went to the post office to get DD2's passport and to renew DD's passport. What a pain in the neck. DD's process was fine, except for the fact that we may have to mail in her birth certificate, depending on whether the powers that be determine that her baby photo is a close enough likeness to her current photo.

For DD2, we were told that we have to send in the ORIGINAL document that is our only proof of adoption. There is only one copy of it, and we are leery that should something happen to it, the consequences could be significant. DH is going to try to call somebody at the passport office to see if a certified copy woud be acceptable. For the life of me, I don't remember having to send this particular document for DD when we applied for her first passport.

Not only that, but the staff at the local post office was nasty. Once we get to the bottom of the paperwork question, we are going to a different post office to finalize things!
