As the giant helium balloons went by at the parade, the crowd chanted "SPIN! SPIN! SPIN!" It took us a while to catch on, but we soon learned that the balloon handlers will respond to the crowd by running in a circle, thereby rotating the balloon 360 degrees. Depending on the balloon, there were anywhere from 15 to 20 people holding the ropes that tethered the balloons.
We wondered if the crowds chant SPIN at the Macy's day Thanksgiving parade. I've decided that I want to be a balloon person. I wonder how I volunteer?
